Sankhuwasabha Massacre: Accused Lok Bahadur’s brother also arrested
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 16 – Another person has been arrested in the case of mass murder in Sankhuwasabha Madi Municipality-1 Umling. Earlier, 25-year-old Lok Bahadur Karki’s brother Naresh, who was made public as the main accused, was also taken under control.
The mobile phone of one of the victims has been recovered from Lok Bahadur’s house. Preliminary investigation has shown that the mobile phone may have been hidden by the Naresh, said State 1 Police Chief Arun BC. He said, “We have taken him under control after it was seen that he should be questioned during the investigation.” Further investigation is being conducted by the Area Police Office, Chainpur.
The incident took a twist after the accused Lok Bahadur confessed to the murder himself and the police arrested his brother. Police are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
Tej Bahadur Karki, 55, mother Parbati Karki, wife Kamala, daughter-in-law Ranjana Karki, 32, Deepak Karki, 8, and Goma Karki, 5, of Umling were killed on Sept. 6. Police arrested Lok Bahadur five days after the murder and made him public.
