Nepali women’s football team reaches Uzbekistan
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 15 – Nepali national women’s football team has reached Tashkent, Uzbekistan to play the qualifying match of Women’s Asian Cup, 2022.
The 33-member Nepali team that left Kathmandu at 11 pm on Monday reached Tashkent last night.
Samples have been collected for the team’s PCR test as soon as they arrive in Tashkent. According to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the team will stay in the hotel quarantine until the PCR report is received.
Gary Phillips, the head coach of the Nepali team, said that the players have come a long way and rest is necessary and the team will rest completely during the quarantine period.
Nepal will play the Philippines on September 18 and Hong Kong on September 21. Before leaving for Uzbekistan, Nepal played two practise matches against Bangladesh in Kathmandu.
