Sudip Dhakal elected chairman of RPP Gorkha

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 15 – Sudip Dhakal has been elected as the chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Gorkha. Former Secretary, he defeated four competitors and emerged victorious.

Out of 82 votes cast in the convention held on Tuesday, Dhakal got 67 votes. Along with him, Ram Raj Koirala, Bhagwandas Malla, Ambika Rupakheti and Rambabu Aryal have been defeated. There are 157 voters in the district election. All but 82 were absent.

Chairman Sudip Dhakal said that the convention has selected a 31-member district committee. He said that the district executive committee will be completed soon after being nominated by the elected members. He claims that RPP will be an alternative to the Congress and the Communists in Gorkha.
