KATHMANDU: SEPT. 15 – Nepal lost to Oman by five wickets in the second match of the triangular series of the ICC Cricket World Cup II.

Oman completed the target of 197 runs set by Nepal by losing 5 wickets in the 31st over.

Jatinder Singh of Oman scored 112 runs. He struck 12 fours and six sixes in just 62 balls. He struck 30 runs with 3 fours and 3 sixes in the fifth over. He was out by Kushal Malla.

Nepal’s Karan KC and Kushal Malla took two wickets each and Sushan Bhari took one wicket. Sandeep Lamichhane did not bowl as he was injured while playing.

Earlier, Nepal, who won the toss and elected to bat, were all out for 196 runs in 47 overs. Aashif Sheikh, who lost Kushal Bhurtel in the first over, managed to score 90 runs. He scored 90 runs in 112 balls with 1 six and 7 fours.

Captain Gyanendra Malla and Karan KC scored 21 runs each, Rohit Kumar Poudel scored 20 runs and Sandeep Lamichhane scored 16 runs.

Aashif shared 58 runs with Gyanendra for the second wicket. Aashif and Rohit shared 42 runs for the third wicket. Rohit was out when the team scored 100 runs.

After that, Binod Bhandari was dismissed for 6 runs. Similarly, Sompal Kami scored 7 runs, 7 by Kushal Malla and 4 by Bikram Sob.
