Budget is to be passed through regular process: Finance Minister Sharma
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 14 – Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has said that the government’s expenditure could be stopped for a few days. He said that the government’s expenditure could be stopped for a few days as it would take time to pass the budget through the regular process.
There is a provision that the budget ordinance replacement bill brought by the government will be automatically deactivated if it is not passed by the parliament by Sept. 15.
However, the meeting has been postponed to Sept. 21. Talking to reporters after the adjournment of the parliament, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma said that the government has adopted a policy of passing the budget through the regular process.
“The government may not spend 5-7 days,” Sharma said. There is no advance payment, the ordinance does not come when there is a parliament. Expenses are incurred after the budget is passed through the regular process. ‘
