3 killed, 24 injured in bus-truck collision

NAWALPUR: SEPT. 14 – Three persons died and 24 others were injured in a bus-truck collision at Nawalpur along the East-West Highway this morning.

A bus (Su Pra 2-001) en route to Mahendranagar from Kakadbhitta collided with a truck (Na 6 Kha 7126) at Gaidakot-10 of Nawalpur.

Deputy Superintendent of Police in Nawalpur, Dilip Kumar Giri, informed that three passengers died on the spot while the bus slid 10 meters down the road after it collided with the truck. The dead ones are two women and a man. Further identity of the dead ones is yet to be ascertained.

There were 26 passengers including the bus driver. Three of the injured are in critical condition. Similarly, even the truck driver got injured in the accident.

The injured ones have been taken to New Medical College, Bharatpur for treatment, according to DSP Giri.
