Nissan Leaf’s test drive week begins
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 13 – The electric vehicle ‘Nissan Leaf’ manufactured by Nissan has been made available for a test drive in Kathmandu. Pioneer Moto Corp, the official dealer of Nissan and Datsun vehicles in Nepal, has stated that the test drive of Nissan Leaf will be conducted from September 13 to 20.
The company has stated that interested customers can win various gifts by doing a test drive. Exchange, valuation and financial facilities will also be available during the week. The company has stated that it has started from 10 am at its showrooms at Thapathali and Uttar Dhoka.
Nissan said it was responding to the introduction of environmentally friendly vehicles in Nepal as a commendable step. Nissan has already tested this vehicle around the world for more than 10 years before it was introduced in Nepal. The company said it had sold more than half a million units of the Nissan Leaf worldwide and covered 12 billion kilometres during the period.
Nissan Leaf is available in 11 different colours in Nepal. The vehicle has four driving modes and is safe due to world-class safety standards 9ABS, EBD and BA0. According to the company, the Nissan Leaf has not suffered any casualties in the world due to high safety standards.
The company has stated that the battery of the car will be given an eight-year warranty. Available with a 40 kWh battery, the Nissan Leaf can cover a distance of 311 km.
The electric motor in the vehicle will provide 150 PS and 120 Nm of torque, the company said. The Nissan Leaf can run from 0 to 100 km per hour in 7.5 seconds and the maximum speed of the vehicle is 140 km per hour. The company has priced the Nissan Leaf at Rs 59.99 lakh.
