Poudel called a meeting of central members close to him
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 13 – Senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel has called a meeting of his party on the Dadeldhura dispute. Poudel’s aide Chiranjeevi Adhikari informed that a meeting was called at the central office Sanepa at 2 pm on Monday.
After President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba convened a convention in the home district of Dadeldhura amidst controversy, Poudel convened a meeting of his party leaders, including central members, to discuss the issue. The convention was held in Dadeldhura on Sept. 10. On the same day, Poudel had objected to the convention in Dadeldhura through social media.
The Central Election Committee has already published the list of active members of 56 districts and held ward conventions in those districts. The rest of the districts are preparing to hold ward conventions on September 21. After that, all the 753 local level conventions will be held on September 25. The executive committee of the Nepali Congress is scheduled to hold its 14th general convention in Kathmandu from November 25 to 29.
