Viber Launches Viber Lens in Collaboration with Snapchat in Nepal

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 12 – Viber has launched AR Lens, a much-awaited Viber Lens feature messaging platform for its users. In collaboration with Viber and Snap, Viber has introduced AR lenses in video messaging and photos.

Viber, one of the world’s leading apps for free and easy communication, launched a new feature by hosting a virtual event on Thursday. According to Viber, this feature has been launched for the first time in the APAC region, including Nepal, Vietnam and the Philippines.

The Viber lens feature is developed in collaboration with Snap Inc. and Snap’s camera kit, creative kit and customizable bitmoji integrated into the Viber app. This feature allows users to have fun and interactive conversations through AR-powered photo and video messages.

In Nepal, Viber lenses are available on iOS (Viber version 15.5.5 and above) and Android (Viber version 15.8.0.15 and above). Local lenses are available for all of the above starting from Android Viber version 16.0.

Coca-Cola’s country director for Nepal and Bhutan, Aadarsh ​​Awasthi, who is going to launch its own local lens on Viber, said, “Coca-Cola and Viber are working together to bring unique, fun and relevant lenses that will inspire and refresh Viber users like Coca-Cola.”
