KATHMANDU: SEPT. 10 – The attention of the top leaders of the ruling coalition has shifted to the expansion of the Council of Ministers. A meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Friday morning as part of the cabinet expansion exercise. In the meeting, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had asked the coalition parties for the name of the minister. After this, the meeting ended this evening.

In today’s meeting, the leaders said that the expansion of the Council of Ministers was delayed and there was no good message in the minds of the people. After this, Prime Minister Deuba also asked to give the name of the minister to expand the cabinet soon.

According to Rastriya Janamorcha Vice-Chairperson Durga Poudel, who participated in the meeting, the meeting was focused on issues including the expansion of the Council of Ministers, running the parliament and expressing views on the alliance. “We are now preparing to table the ordinances,” Poudel said.

Concluding that the alliance should be further strengthened, the leaders agreed to hold more coalition meetings. The meeting was attended by General Secretary of the Nepali Congress Purna Bahadur Khadka, Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chairman of the CPN-Unified Socialist Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the JSP Upendra Yadav and Vice Chairman of the Rastriya Janamorcha Durga Poudel.

Earlier, a meeting of the coalition was held on Thursday evening. The meeting discussed today’s agenda but reached a conclusion.
