Prachanda told the MCC vice-president that a national consensus must be reached

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 10 – Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that there should be a national consensus on the MCC agreement. This was stated by Prachanda during a meeting with a team including MCC Vice President Fatema Sumar in Khumaltar this morning.

Prachanda said that it would be difficult to move it forward alone during the dispute, said Press Adviser Bishnu Sapkota. Vice President Sumar had urged to create an environment for MCC to be passed. In response, Prachanda said that there was a national question about the MCC, adding that there should be a national consensus or at least a consensus among the parties in the ruling coalition.

Earlier, she had started talks with UML Chairman KP Oli and CPN-S Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal. She also had a meeting with JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav. She is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Finance Minister Janardan Sharma today.
