Dozens arrested for chanting ‘No MCC’ in front of MCC officials
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 9 – A team led by MCC Vice President Fatema Sumar arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday morning. The slogan ‘No MCC’ was chanted in front of the team that landed at Tribhuvan International Airport from Qatar Airlines at 9 am. Demanding the abolition of MCC, the coordinator of the Advanced Democratic Party Swagat Nepal and others chanted slogans saying ‘No MCC’.

Demonstrating in front of the main gate of the airport, they called themselves ‘MCC traitors’. “We were arrested at the airport,” said Swagat Nepal. My car was also taken under control. The vehicle has also been vandalized by the police. The arrested have been kept at the Mahendra Police Club.
The MCC has been debated in Nepal since its inception. Most have said the MCC will not pass the status quo, while the United States has said it will not amend the agreement.
