Nepal is to play a friendly match with Bangladesh today
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 9 – Nepal is playing its first match against the visiting team today in two friendly matches against Bangladesh before the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifier 2022. The match between Nepal and Bangladesh will start at 5 pm at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor.
The national women’s team will make its debut at the Dasharath Stadium against Bangladesh. The Nepali women’s team has not yet played at the Dasharath Stadium. A foreign coach will also make his debut in the Nepali national women’s football team.
In the pre-match conference, the coaches of both countries expressed their confidence to get result out. Before the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022 qualifiers to be held in Uzbekistan, Bangladesh will play two friendly matches. Gary Phillips, the head coach of the Nepali team, said that the Nepali team has completed its preparations for the friendly match and is eager to compete.
The spectators will be allowed those who are in the pre-selection practice game. ANFA has fixed the ticket price for the game at Rs 200 for general and Rs 500 for VIP. Nepal is in Group F of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022 qualifiers. The group that includes Nepal includes Hong Kong and the Philippines.
It will be held at the JAR Stadium in Uzbekistan. Nepal is scheduled to start the selection game with the Philippines. Nepal’s first match will be against the Philippines on September 19 and the second match will be against Hong Kong on September 22. The group’s match between the Philippines and Hong Kong will be played on September 25.
The top team of the group will get a chance to play in the Asian Cup to be held in India next year. The Asian Cup will be held from January 20 to February 6.
