Political parties to attract tourism entrepreneurs in Pokhara
POKHARA: SEPT. 8 – Last week, 12 people, including old tourism entrepreneur Ganesh Bahadur Bhattarai, joined the Nepali Congress. Bhattarai is also the former deputy mayor of the then Pokhara Metropolitan City.
Along with him, Pokhara Tourism Council Chairman Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai, some engineers and tourism businessmen were given membership by Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. But some so-called newcomers were also from the old Congress.
CPN-UML has also re-admitted its own cadres to counter the Congress. Although some are new, most of the newcomers are said to be close to the UML.
UML claims that more than 100 people, including tourism entrepreneur Yogesh Bhattarai, were admitted on Tuesday. Bhattarai is a paragliding coach at the Asian Games.
Party president KP Sharma Oli, in association with old tourism entrepreneur Naresh Bhattarai, introduced him to the party during a function in Pokhara. Entrepreneurs Rajendra Tiwari, Ram Bahadur Dhakal, Durga Dhakal and others have joined UML.
