Police say ‘blunt force’ used in killing 6 people
BIRATNAGAR: SEPT. 7 – Police have concluded that the killing of six members of the same family in Madi Rural Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha was not a sharp weapon but a ‘blunt force’ attack. Police said that no sharp weapon was used in the murder.
According to Superintendent of Police Nabin Kumar Rai, spokesperson of the State Police Office, Biratnagar, the body was chased and killed.
Initially, it was said to have been cut, but later investigations did not show that it was possible to use firewood or wood and some heavy metal objects rather than weapons.
He said that it was found that sharp weapons were used for cutting but firewood was not used for cutting. According to the police, the body was scattered in 3/4 places.
Bodies being brought to Dharan
A police team led by SP Bhim Dahal from the State Police Office, Biratnagar and the Federal Police Office, Dharan, recovered the body this morning, said spokesperson Rai.
According to SP Rai, the body was brought to Dharan at around 1:30 pm. “It took all morning to prepare the body,” he told Makalu Khabar.
Police said that the investigation was carried out using a trained dog.
SP Rai informed that they would be brought to Dharan only till tonight and autopsy would be done only tomorrow as they had to be brought by tractor and then by vehicle.
Six members of Tej Bahadur Karki and his family were killed in Madi-1 on Sunday night. The bodies of Tej Bahadur Karki, 58, mother Parbata, 80, wife Manmaya, 56, daughter-in-law Ranjana, 28, grandson Deepak, 10, and granddaughter Goma Karki, 5, have been found murdered.
Tej Bahadur’s 90-year-old father is still alive. He said that he could not hear well and could not see well. He said that he ate and slept in the evening and did not know anything about the incident.
A team of CIB has also reached Biratnagar to investigate the incident. A five-member team under the command of DSP Rukum Bahadur Kunwar walked towards the spot, police said.
