KATHMANDU: SEPT. 7 – Nepal will start the first one-day international against Papua New Guinea (PNG) by bowling. PNG won the toss and elected to bat first at the Emirates Cricket Ground in Oman.

Nepal is going to play its first match against PNG today in a two-match series. The second match will be played on Friday. Before the triangular one-day series with Oman and the USA under ICC World Cup Cricket League-2, Nepal is going to play with PNG.

In this game, coach Dav Whatmore is making the debut of three Nepali players in ODI. In which Aashif Sheikh, Kushal Malla and Bikram Sob are going to make their debut. Papua New Guinea has decided to bat first after winning the toss against Nepal. The match at Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman will start soon.

The captain Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Vesawkar, Kushal Bhurtel, Aashif Sheikh, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami, Bikram Sob, Rohit Poudel, Kushal Malla, Pawan Sarraf and Aarif Sheikh are in the match. Vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee will miss today’s match due to injury.
