KATHMANDU: SEPT. 6 – Kathmandu has record the heaviest rainfall this time. There has been heavy rain with thunder in many parts of Kathmandu Valley since 2 am.

Kathmandu has received 105 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. According to the Water and Weather Forecast Division, this is the first time in such a short time that such a large amount of rain has fallen in a short period of time.

Heavy floods have hit Bagmati due to rains. According to the Flood Forecast Division, the water level has crossed the alert level at the Bagmati River Khokana Water Measurement Center. As the water level is still rising, high vigilance has been urged in the riparian areas till noon.

The rising water level in the rivers of the valley has also increased the risk of floods in the surrounding settlements. The settlements along the river are in danger of flooding due to rising water levels in Bagmati, Bishnumati, Manohara, Hanumante and Rudramati rivers.

The Gokarneshwor temple area of ​​Kathmandu, Milanchowk area of ​​Kapan, fruit market of Balkhu and riverside settlements of Gaushala have been inundated.
