KATHMANDU: SEPT. 6 – The water level in various big and small rivers of the country has risen due to the overnight rains. The Koshi, Narayani and their tributaries Kankai, Kamala, Bagmati, East Rapti and Tinau are flooded.

According to the Flood Forecast Division, the water level at the Bagmati River Khokna has crossed the alert level. As the flood is still rising, high vigilance has been urged in the riparian areas till noon.

The rising water level in the rivers of Kathmandu Valley has also increased the risk of floods in the surrounding settlements. The settlements along the river are in danger of flooding due to rising water levels in Bagmati, Bishnumati, Manohara, Hanumante and Rudramati rivers.

Similarly, heavy rainfall has been recorded in the last three hours in Chharchhare, Kalyanpur, Bankatta, Govindabasti and surrounding areas of the Madi area of ​​Chitwan. Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in Riukhola and other tributaries in the area.

Heavy rains have been measured in the last six hours in Dhakeri and surrounding areas of Banke district and there is a possibility of more rains. It has been requested to adopt high vigilance in the small river flowing through the area in case of sudden flood, coastal area and inundated areas.
