Nepal loses friendly match against India [Photos]
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 6 – Nepal has lost its tenth friendly match against India. Nepal lost to India 2-1 at Dasharath Stadium.
Farukh Choudhary and captain Sunil Chhetri score for India. Nepal’s Tej Tamang returned one goal. Nepal could not score in a few chances.
India took the lead in the 61st minute through Farukhs goal. Chaudhary scored the goal on a pass provided by captain Sunil Chhetri through the head.
Captain Chhetri doubled India’s lead in the 81st minute. Chhetri scored a goal in a one-on-one situation with Nepal’s goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong.
5 minutes before the end of the game, Tej Tamang scored a great goal for Nepal and raised Nepal’s hopes. But Nepal could not score any more goals and had to be disappointed at the home stadium.
This is the first goal from Tej’s national football team. His powerful ball from about 20 yards out turned into a great goal.
The first friendly match between Nepal and India ended in a 1-1 draw. Both the countries are playing friendly matches in preparation for the upcoming SAFF Football Championship.
