TOKYO: SEPT. 3 – Nepal’s Palesha Goverdhan has won the repechage round for the Taekwondo side of the Tokyo Paralympics.
Palesha entered the semifinals by defeating American Brianna Salinaro in the quarterfinals of the repechage.
Palesha, who is playing in the women’s under-58 kg weight category of K44, defeated Brianna 10-0. With the victory, there is still a possibility of Palesha winning a bronze medal.
Palesha will play Serbia’s Maria Misev in the semifinals. If she wins the semifinals, she will have to play in the next game for the bronze medal.
After losing 21-8 to Beth Munro of Great Britain in the first match, Palesha’s chances of winning the gold medal are gone.
