Over 600 thousand people get first shot of vaccine against COVID-19 in Sudurpaschim
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 3 – More than 600 thousand people of Sudurpaschim State including the Baitadi district have been administered COVID-19 vaccines so far.
As per the data released by the Social Development Ministry of the State Government, 601 thousand 518 people of nine districts of Sudurpaschim State have got the first shot of vaccine so far.
A spokesperson at the Ministry, Narendra Singh Karki, said that the highest number of people—195,361 from Kailali district been vaccinated with the first shot of COVID-19 vaccine.
Similarly, 107,163 people in Kanchanpur, 57,068 in Baitadi, 55,948 in Achham, 46,724 in Bajhang, 45,423 in Doti, 38,655 in Darchula, 30,993 in Dadeldhura and 24,183 in Bajura have got first shot of vaccine against COVID-19 so far.
Meanwhile, 401 thousand 33 people in the state have administrated the full dose of a vaccine against COVID-19 so far.
A report from Kanchanpur State that Nepalis entering the country via the Gaddachauki transit are being vaccinated against coronavirus infection. People above 18 years of age are given the AstraZeneca shots at the health desk set up at the transit. Those getting the first shot would have to take the second one in their own district.
It is said more than 50 people enter the country from India through this transit point in the far-west border.
