Air connections connecting all the States to Pokhara, Simara flight started
POKHARA: SEPT. 3 – After long discussions and efforts, the direct flight from Pokhara to Simara has started from Wednesday. Buddha Air has flown to Simara for the first time.
Simara is the major city of State 2. Some time ago, the Nepalgunj flight was started from Pokhara. Nepalgunj is the main city of Lumbini State. Pokhara also flies to Bhairahawa. Biratnagar, State 1, has been postponed for some time now. One can fly from Bharatpur Pokhara in Bagmati State. The Ministry of Tourism has stated that it is preparing to fly ships to Karnali and Far West soon.
After Kathmandu, Pokhara is becoming a hub of domestic flights. The Gandaki government had planned to connect air routes with major cities in all seven states. Buddha Air is operating domestic flights from 18-seater aircraft. Simara flights occur three days a week. The minimum fare will be Rs 4,770 and the maximum will be Rs 7,170.
On the first day, eight passengers have come to Pokhara from Simara while 18 passengers including a tourism entrepreneur have gone to Simara from Pokhara. The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has taken the Pokhara businessman to Simara to revive tourism. A team including Gandaki Tourism Minister Manibhadra Sharma will spend three days in Simara promoting Pokhara and Gandaki tourist destinations. The Simara flight is targeted at Indian tourists.
There are regular flights from Pokhara to Jomsom. Humde Airport in Manang and Balewa Airport in Baglung are not in use at present. Minister Sharma said that flights would be operated in all the states considering Pokhara as a hub.
