KATHMANDU: SEPT. 3 – Nepali Congress central member Dr Shekhar Koirala has said that the 14th general convention of the party should give the message of ending the faction. Issuing an appeal this morning on the day of the ward convention under the General Convention, Koirala said that the permanent character of factions and divisions should be removed.
He said that the Congress was weaker than the Communists in the general election due to the factions. ‘We have not been able to eradicate the culture of factions and divisions within the party in the past,’ he said. Koirala wrote in the appeal, “That is why we have become weaker than the Communists in the general election.”
He said that it was the responsibility of Congress to make it the number one reliable and trustworthy party. “We have a responsibility to make the Congress the number one party that is reliable and trustworthy. Similarly, we do not have time to wait for the formation of new culture and system within the party. We have to succeed in ending the factions and gangs in the 14th General Convention which has come as a celebration, ‘he further said.
