192 thousand doses of vaccines administered in Nepal
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 2 – So far, One crore 92 thousand doses of vaccines have been administered in Nepal.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 1 crore 92 thousand 164 doses have been vaccinated so far.
So far, Nepal has been vaccinated with Vero Cell, Johnson & Johnson, Covishield, Japanese made AstraZeneca and Swedish AstraZeneca vaccines.
According to the Ministry of Health, 17.9 percent or 54.24 million 836 people have been vaccinated for the first time and 15.4 percent or 46.67 million 328 people have been fully vaccinated.
The ministry has stated that the government has set a target of vaccinating 217,56,763 people out of a total of 71.6 per cent.
Of the 217,56,763 people targeted to be vaccinated in Nepal, 54,24,836 or 17.9 per cent have already received the first dose of the vaccine as of Wednesday. The total number of people vaccinated is 4,667,328 or 15.4 per cent.
Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director for South-East Asia of the World Health Organization, congratulated Nepal for successfully vaccinating more than 10 million people in such a short period of time.
The vaccination campaign against coronavirus was started in Nepal on January 27 last year.
Nepal has now been vaccinated with Covishield, made in India, Vero Cell of China, Johnson & Johnson of USA, AstraZeneca made in Japan and AstraZeneca made in Sweden.
