Nepal-India Football: Nepal’s referee to conduct the game
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 1 – The two friendly matches between Nepal and India will be conducted by the Nepali referee. The first match between Nepal and India is scheduled for Thursday and the second friendly match is scheduled for next Sunday.
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has decided to allow Nepal’s ‘FIFA referee’ to conduct the game as per the instructions of FIFA. “We are going to have our own referee conduct the game as per the instructions of FIFA,” said an ANFA source.
Accordingly, ANFA had even tested the FIFA referee in Nepal. Newly appointed referee director Gautam Kaur has taken the test of eight referees after ANFA instructed the referee association under it. With the arrival of Gautam, who is also an Indian former referee, the Nepali referee has started playing the first game.

ANFA tested 4 center referees and 4 assistant referees at Dasharath Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Where 8 participating referees were successful. Nepal currently has a quota of 12 FIFA referees, including 10 men and two women.
This time the referees will be Nabindra Maharjan,Kabin Byanjankar, Prajwal Chhetri and Prakash Nath Shrestha. Similarly, Madhav Khatri, Sahadev Shrestha, Bikram Chaudhary and Kishan Yadav will be the assistant referees.
Nani Ram Thapa and Unal Malla, who had earlier played the role of assistant referees in the Three Nations Cup in March, were out of the friendly. Along with the referee and assistant referee, the fourth official, referee assessor and match commissioner will also be Nepal’s officials in two friendly matches
Both Nepal and India are going to play a friendly match in preparation for the SAFF Championship to be held in Male, Maldives from October 1 to 16. So far 19 games have been played between Nepal and India. In which India has won 13 games and 4 games have been drawn. Similarly, there are only two games in favour of Nepal.
