Griezmann returns to Atletico Madrid

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 1 – Barcelona star Antoine Griezmann has returned to his old club Atletico Madrid. Spanish La Liga champions Atletico have re-signed Griezmann on loan.

Atletico have brought Griezmann on a one-year loan. Griezmann left Atletico for Barcelona in 2019. Barcelona had spent 107 million pounds for him.

He had previously scored 133 goals in 257 games for Atletico Madrid. Atletico Madrid will have to pay Griezmann a loan for one year and a permanent contract the following year.

Griezmann, 30, has scored 35 goals in 102 games for Barcelona. Griezmann is the 11th player to leave financially struggling Barcelona. Atletico signed Luis Suarez from Barcelona last season. Atletico Madrid became champions in his brilliant performance.
