8 injured in drone attack on Saudi Abha airport

RIYADH: AUGUST 31 – Eight people were injured after a drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s Abha International Airport on Tuesday, Al Arabiya reported.

The injuries were caused by shrapnel or fragments from the drone when being destroyed, according to the report.

The initial report indicated that a passenger plane was damaged, a statement from the Saudi-led Arab coalition said, alleging that the strike was the second drone attack by Houthis in 24 hours.

Saudi Arabia’s defense forces intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone targeting the airport early Tuesday morning, without causing any casualties, the coalition said.
