No agreement reached in YCL
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 31 – YCL Nepal, a youth wing of the Maoist center, has not been able to elect a new chairman. Leaders said that they were eager to elect a new chairman after Vice-Chairman Suman Devkota and General Secretary Subodh Sherpali did not give up their demands.
Despite efforts by party leaders and YCL officials to reach a consensus, no agreement has been reached yet, the leaders said.
Though the party and YCL leaders held discussions with party president Prachanda on Tuesday morning to seek consensus, no agreement was reached and now it has been agreed to end the meeting by announcing only the central members and appointing a new chairman.
The national meeting of the YCL, which started on August 28 through virtual media, has been extended due to leadership disputes. According to the leaders, the meeting is likely to end today.
