KATHMANDU: AUGUST 31 – Every rainy season, Kathmandu Valley has been facing difficulties in waste management. The people of the valley are forced to live in the stench of garbage, especially as the rains bring landslides and damage the roads.

On top of that, the Sisdol of Nuwakot is also being filled and the work of the nearby Bancharedanda, which has been put forward as an alternative, has not been completed. For more than two weeks, the people of the valley have been forced to live in a garbage dump and foul-smelling environment.

From time to time, sanitation work has been carried out with the active participation of the engineers. Meanwhile, the engineers of ‘Newa Lahana World Sanitation Campaign’ have cleaned various places in the valley. Campaigners Rajman Manav and Sushila Maharjan, led by various sanitation campaigns, have gathered at Ratna Park today to protest against the government’s indifference to sanitation.

Engineer Rajman Manav informed that there is a program to dispose of the garbage in Sisdol by walking through Ratna Park, Jamal, Jyatha, Askal and Balaju today.
