Who will be the YCL president?
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 31 – The Standing Committee of the CPN (Maoist Center) has given the responsibility of finalizing the leadership of the youth organization Young Communist League (YCL) to Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
According to the UCPN-M, the standing committee meeting handed over the leadership to Chairman Prachanda after discussing with the YCL officials before the YCL meeting which was adjourned till 11 am today. YCL leaders have said that the meeting may be extended for a few days due to a leadership dispute.
According to YCL leaders, the main demand for the new leadership is between Subodh Raj Serpali and Suman Devkota. Serpali is currently the General Secretary of YCL and Devkota is the Vice President. Serpali claims that he has claimed leadership to mobilize the youth of the country in the socialist direction, to have faith in the Maoist party and the future of the organization as well as to solve all the problems of the youth.
