Indian football team arrives in Kathmandu [Photos]
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 30 – Indian national football team has arrived in Kathmandu to play a friendly match with Nepal. India had announced a 25-member team under the captaincy of Sunil Chhetri for a friendly match against Nepal.
The same team arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday. The Indian team was welcomed by All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Vice President Shikshit Parajuli.
Nepal and India, who are preparing for the SAFF Championship in the Maldives, will play two friendly matches at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor from September 2 to 5.
The fair championship is being organized from October 1 and 16. The Nepali team is undergoing closed training in Pokhara. Nepal and India last played in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. That game ended in a goalless draw.
