Asking for money by creating fake account of SP
JANAKPURDHAM: AUGUST 30 – News of people being deceived on social media is becoming public. From time to time, there are reports of people falling into love traps by extorting money by increasing relationships and contacts through social media.
In Dhanusha, a fake Facebook account was created in the name of a high-ranking police officer to solicit money. It has been found that Dhanusha Superintendent of Police Prakash Ranabhat has been soliciting money from various people by creating fake Facebook accounts.
A fake Facebook account of Superintendent of Police Ranabhat of the District Police Office, Dhanusha has been created to solicit money through Google Pay.
“My Facebook friends informed me that someone had opened a fake Facebook ID in my name and was asking for money from my friends,” Superintendent of Police Ranabhat wrote on his official Facebook page. I urge all my friends to be vigilant about this betrayal and not to give money. ‘
It has been found that many friend requests has been sent from the fake account created in the name of SP Ranabhat. He said that various excuses were used to demand money from his name.
Lately, the business of cheating through social media has been on the rise and there has been a growing trend of cheating fake users through various scams, temptations and delusions.
There is a provision to take action in such cases as per the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 for the regulation of cyber crime. According to Article 47 of the Act, a person who publishes or displays immoral, unethical, hateful or hateful material on electronic media including computer and internet is liable to a fine of one lakh or imprisonment for five years or both.
