The possibility of heavy rains in these areas, urged to remain vigilant

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 27 – Currently, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is falling in some places of State 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali. It has been raining in many parts of the country for the past few days as the low-pressure line of the monsoon is close to the Terai region of Nepal.

According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in most parts of the country in the afternoon. There is a possibility of heavy and very heavy rain with thunder and lightning in State 1, 2, Bagmati, Gandaki and some parts of Lumbini State and one or two places in Far West and Karnali State.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in many places tonight with normal to full cloud cover across the country. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in a few places in State 1, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Far Western States. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in one or two places of the rest of the state.

The Department has stated that there will be heavy rain for three days till next Sunday due to active monsoon. The department has urged to be vigilant as the water level in rivers and streams may rise.
