KATHMANDU: AUGUST 26 – The Central Committee meeting of the CPN (UML) has decided to implement the preamble of the 10-point agreement reached on July 11. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Central Committee held at Tulsilal Amatya Pratisthan in Lalitpur on Thursday. Spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Gyawali said that the meeting has made four decisions.

Here are the other decisions:

  • Prompt implementation of the preamble of the 10-point agreement. (Focusing on the core of party unity.)
  • To inform the Election Commission by leaving the party and removing the names of those involved in separate parties from the UML records. (The door is open to anyone who wants to correct a mistake.)
  • To seek legal redressal against the decision of the Election Commission. (Leaders who were not present during the identification of Madhav Kumar Nepal-led CPN-Unified Socialist Party have also been identified.)
  • To seek legal remedy against the ordinance related to political parties. To seek legal redressal by questioning the role of the Speaker. (UML’s conclusion that the provision of allowing the party to elect within 21 days is against the parliamentary practice. The Speaker has stayed the action against 14 parliamentarians. That was against the parliamentary practice.)
