Sandeep to play for Hurricanes in Big Bash League
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 26 – Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane will play in the Big Bass League of the new season from Hobart Hurricanes.
Australian franchise Tim Hobart on Thursday renewed Sandeep’s contract for the new season. Hobart says Sandeep has been signed to the team as the first international player. Sandeep played for Hobart last season. Sandeep took eight wickets in eight games for Hobart last season.
Before that, Sandeep had played in the Big Bass League from Melbourne Stars. Sandeep is the first Nepali player to play in the Big Bass League. Sandeep also said that he is confident of performing well in the league this season.
‘Last year we had a good group. Many of us will play together this year. “I am hopeful that he will be there for the whole season,” Sandeep said after the deal. The new season of Big Bass is scheduled to take place from December 5 to January 28, 2022.
Sandeep is currently in Oman with the Nepali national team. Nepali team is in Oman for the triangular one-day series against Oman and USA under ICC Cricket World Cup-2.
Sandeep has lost a big franchise league recently. Sandeep will not play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 when the Nepali team plays. Sandeep had missed England’s The Hundred Cricket and Vitality T20 Blast Cricket due to visa problems.
