KATHMANDU: AUGUST 25 – A problem has surfaced in the management of the bus park at Ratna Park as the construction of the view tower has not been completed in the slated time.

The construction of the view tower which started in mid-July 2016 by shifting the bus park located at Ratna Park to another place, has now been moving ahead at a snail’s pace.

Though the construction of the view tower was started in order to complete it within five years, only 35 per cent of works have been completed so far, according to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Failing to complete the construction of the view tower by the construction company on time has added confusion over where to operate the bus park.

The bus park, where the view tower is under construction, was shifted to Khula Manch, but the bus park shifted to Khula Manch has been removed from April 29.

Transport entrepreneurs, however, have been demanding that bus parks should be operated from the previous place.

A committee formed under the coordination of Deputy-Mayor of KMC, Hari Prabha Khadgi, has suggested operating the long-route vehicles providing their services via KMC from Sallaghari for the time being.

Chief of Private Partnership Unit of KMC, Nur Nidhi Neupane, said that at least 75 per cent of works should have been completed so far had the works been carried out as per the agreement, but not even more than 35 per cent works have been completed yet.

Construction work on the fifth floor is underway. The KMC and Jaleshwor Swochchhanda Bikoi Builders Pvt Ltd had signed an agreement on March 6, 2015, for the construction of the view tower.
