Nepali cricket team leaves for Oman to play triangular series
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 24 – The Nepali cricket team has left for Oman to play in the Triangular Cricket Series under the World Cup League-2 with Oman and America.
The 22-member team with 17 players boarded the Salam Air for Oman at Tribhuvan International Airport today. Though the tournament is scheduled to be held from September 13 to September 20, the game schedule has not been made public yet.
Before the series, Nepal will play two friendly ODIs against Papua New Guinea in Oman. Before that, the Nepali team will undergo special training for one week after reaching Oman, according to CAN. The friendly match between Nepal and Papua New Guinea will be played on September 5 and 8, according to CAN.
Nepal is in the sixth position in the league with 4 points in 4 games. Earlier, Nepal had played four matches at home against Oman and the United States. Oman tops the list with 16 points from 10 games, followed by the United States with 12 points from 12 games.
