Journalists involved in keeping drugs on journalists’ motorcycles!

JANAKPUR: AUGUST 24 – Police have arrested two persons for possessing drugs on a journalist’s motorcycle in Rautahat. The District Police Office, Rautahat has admitted that the innocent person was arrested with drugs through a press conference.

An official of the Rautahat branch of the Federation of Nepali Journalists was also involved in the incident, police said. According to Rautahat Superintendent of Police Siddhi Bikram Shah, the investigation has revealed that Sanjay Sahani, joint secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Rautahat branch, had tried to lure an innocent person into a drug case.

According to Superintendent of Police Shah, Joint Secretary Sahani used local youths Dhiraj Yadav and Jitesh Kumar Yadav to put drugs on the motorcycle of journalist Mojibullah. According to Superintendent of Police Shah, Sahani had called Assistant Inspector of Police Uday Prasad Yadav and police constable Manoj Shah and arrested them.

According to Shah, the two were arrested after different facts were revealed from the investigation. Shah also said that two non-professional policemen have been suspended.

Rautahat police had arrested journalist Mohammad Mojubullah on 16 August with the drug nitrovet. The investigation was started after CCTV footage showed him being arrested for possession of drugs.
