KATHMANDU: AUGUST 24 – CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting is being held today. Chairman KP Sharma Oli has called a meeting at 11 am.

According to spokesperson Pradeep Gyawali, the meeting will be held at the building of Tulsilal Amatya Memorial Foundation at Chyasal in Lalitpur. Gyawali said that the leaders of the ‘third stream’ would also participate in the meeting. After leader Madhav Kumar Nepal submitted his nomination to the Election Commission for registration of a new party, some leaders have not been open to both Oli and Nepal.

They have been emphasizing that the party should be united. They stressed that Oli should be flexible for party unity and Nepal should not open a new party. A meeting has been called for today after a discussion with third party leaders at the residence of Chairman Oli in Balkot on Monday.

During the discussion on Monday, Gyawali informed that the then UML had agreed to implement the 10-point agreement reached in the task force formed to resolve the dispute.
