KATHMANDU: AUGUST 23 – The parties in the ruling coalition have said that it is unfortunate to make threatening remarks against the speaker. The parties in the alliance issued a statement on Monday objecting to the threatening remarks made by the main opposition party CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli and UML MPs and leaders against the Speaker.

Nepali Congress Whip Pushpa Bhusal, Maoist Center Chief Whip Dev Gurung, JSP’s Pradip Yadav, Rastriya Janamorcha’s Durga Poudel and CPN-Unified Socialist’s Jeevan Ram Shrestha issued a joint statement on Monday.

“Threats against the speaker are against the current constitutional order and democratic system,” the joint statement said. They have also urged Oli, the leader of the opposition UML, to uphold constitutional dignity.

Is Oli angry that the UML has not sacked 14 MPs including Madhav Kumar Nepal? That was questioned.

Similarly, UML leaders have been pressuring the Speaker to recognize the actions of 14 people. Earlier, the Speaker’s Secretariat had also objected to the expressions and behaviour of UML Chairman Oli and UML MPs.
