UML’s slogan in Lumbini state assembly: ‘End totalitarianism’

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 23 -CPN (UML) Lumbini has blocked the meeting of the state assembly. As soon as the meeting started, the protesting UML lawmakers blocked the meeting with slogans such as ‘End totalitarianism’, ‘Fulfill our demands’ and ‘Respect democratic values’.

The meeting has since been adjourned for half an hour. After the UML’s slogan, Speaker Purna Bahadur Ghartimagar adjourned the meeting for half an hour.

UML has postponed the state assembly meeting saying that no action has been taken against lawmakers Ajay Shahi and Vimala Kumari Wali.

Earlier, Speaker Ghartimagar had sent a letter to Lumbini saying that no action would be taken against Shahi and Wali. After that, in a press conference on Sunday (yesterday), the UML had said that the decision of the Speaker would be approved by the House.
