‘Memory August 30’ in Mandala
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 23 -More than 15,000 civilians were killed in Nepal’s 10-year armed conflict. About 1,300 civilians went missing. Thousands of civilians have been displaced by the conflict and many have been displaced. There are no official statistics on the number of victims of sexual violence in the conflict.
Even though a generation has grown up carrying the pain of this violent conflict, the state has not been able to alleviate that pain. Mandala Theater Nepal has been conducting ‘Memory 30 August’ every year since 2015 with the aim of making the suffering of the conflict victims, the fight for justice and waiting for the truth a common issue, not just for those families.
This year, under the program ‘Memory August 30’, which is organized every year on the International Day against Disappearances, there is a drama rehearsal and staging program ‘Wounds of War’ by the students. The students of Mandala Drama School, which was started by Mandala a year ago, have come to the end of their training and made short plays on unresolved issues in Nepal’s conflict.
According to the Mandala Theater, the four-part presentations made by 16 trainees from different parts of the country divided into four groups and discussing and collaborating with the conflict-affected communities will be broadcast live on the official channels of the Mandala on Monday, 30 August at 5:30 pm.
