Jaya Prithvi’s 144th Birth Anniversary: This was Jaya Prithvi’s letter to Rabindranath Tagore
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 23 -Today is the 144th birth anniversary of Nepal’s humanitarian leader, philosopher, social reformer and Bajhangi King Jaya Prithvi Bahadur Singh. Born on 23 August 1877 in Bajhang, King Jaya Prithvi abdicated at the age of 47.
He reached Bangalore, India in 1980 (2037). From there, he campaigned for humanism. The campaign ran around the world. He had a very big personality. He was even asked to write something in Rabindranath Tagore’s book published in 1931. The book was prepared by the Golden Book Committee of Calcutta. This is when India was under British rule.
A book was published on the occasion of the 70th birth anniversary of Tagore, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. The book was published under the title ‘The Golden Book of the Tagore’. The message in the book was asked to be written by famous people from all over the world. Jaya Prithvi was the only Nepali who was asked to write like this.
There is a message written by Jaya Prithvi on page 121 of the book. In a book published as the editor of Ramachandran Chatterjee, Jaya Prithvi wrote, “Please accept the congratulations of the Humanitarian Club and the 70th birth anniversary given by me. May your longevity fulfil your sacred wish to see the world accept and practice humanism as a happy family. ‘
Sadly, there is little discussion in Nepal about the world believing in the world since Nobel laureate Tagore. It is too late to spread his personality, work and philosophy among the common people by doing more research, study and research on Jaya Prithvi.
Jaya Prithvi died at the age of 63 on 15 October 1940, in Bangalore.
