Heavy rains in these areas including Kathmandu, urging to remain vigilant

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 23 – Currently, moderate to heavy rains occurring in State 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini. According to the Weather Forecast Division, the monsoon is affecting Nepal.

The low-pressure line is somewhat south of Nepal. In the afternoon, there will be normal change across the country. Light to moderate rain is expected in some places. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder/lightning in one or two places of State-1, Bagmati and Gandaki.

There will be normal cloud cover across the country tonight. Light to moderate rain is expected in many places. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder/lightning in one or two places of Lumbini, Gandaki and Bagmati States.

The department has requested to be cautious as there is a risk of landslides and drizzles in the hilly terrain and rising water levels in rivers and streams.
