Bank of Kathmandu’s contactless card facility
KATHMANDU: AUGUST 20 – Bank of Kathmandu Limited has launched Contactless Visa Debit Card.
Based on Near-Field Communication (NFC), the card has an AFC-enabled tap facility so that customers can make payments using POS machines, the bank said.
With this technology, payment can be made by simply tapping the POS machine from a limited distance without having a card inside the machine. The bank is confident that customers will be able to maintain personal distance when paying through this contactless card for the current COVID-19 risk reduction.
At present, up to Rs 2,000 can be transacted through this technology, the bank said.
Bank of Kathmandu has been providing banking facilities to its customers from 90 branch offices, 78 ATMs and 10 extension counters.
