Sharma appointed chief of Bagmati State

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 20 – Yadav Chandra Sharma has been appointed as the chief of Bagmati State.

According to the Office of the President, Sharma has been appointed as the state chief by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on the recommendation of the government.

The government had recommended the removal of state chief Bishnu Prasad Prasai and the appointment of Sharma as the new chief. A statement issued by the President’s Office said that Prasai was relieved of his post as per clause ‘B’ of Article 165 of the Constitution and Sharma was appointed as the head of the state in accordance with Article 163, Clause 2 of the Constitution.
