Thakur Mahato’s party will be one of the LOJAPA or LOSAPA

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 20 – Mahanta Thakur, who had applied to the Election Commission last Wednesday for registration of JSP, Nepal (Democratic), will file another application on Friday (today) with a new name. Leaders including Thakur are currently discussing. After this, leader Ekwal Mia, who is going to the commission for registration today, informed Makalu Khabar. “Discussions will take place and we will go to the commission today after reaching a conclusion,” said Mia.

Thakur has proposed another name after the Election Commission ruled that it is not possible to register another party by hanging an ‘adjective’ in the name of one party as per the decision of the Supreme Court on March 7. A leader told Makalu Khabar, “Discussions are underway in the Democratic Socialist Party (LOSAPA). Discussions are also underway to keep the Democratic Janata Party (LOJAPA) together. Some friends are saying that socialists should not step down. We are also considering that.

Officially of JSP after the Baburam Bhattarai-Upendra Yadav group got it, Thakur became like a non-party. However, Thakur had applied for democratic registration on Wednesday after the government introduced an ordinance on political parties to increase the number of parties in the parliamentary party or the central committee to 20 per cent.
