Indian award to three writers
JHAPA: AUGUST 20 – Three writers from Damak, Jhapa have been awarded the Indian Literary Award. Khemlal Pokhrel of Damak, Toyanath Chapagain and Bishnu Prasad Bhattarai, who are considered to be the exponents of the new dimension of English literature, have been awarded the Independence Literature Award of India.
They have been awarded the 75th Independence Literature Award of India for their special contribution to world English literature. The award was jointly presented by Motivational Strips, an umbrella organization of world English writers, and Gujarat Sahitya Akademi on the occasion of the day.
Among the six English writers to receive the award are Krishna Chamling, Tulsi Shrestha and Hum Ale. The awards have been distributed by Shiju H. Pallithazheth, founder of Motivational Strip and Dr Bishnu Pandey, founder of Gujarat Sahitya Akademi.
