Mask Campaign: Free masks for over 21,000 people

KATHMANDU: AUGUST 19 – In the last 24 hours, free masks have been distributed to 21,843 people under the ‘Where Is Your Mask? (Tapai Ko Mask Khoi?).’ The program run by the Nepal Police for the prevention and reduction of the risk of COVID-19 infection.

Under the program, a total of 895,443 people have been given free masks since April 19.

In view of the increasing incidence of COVID-19 infection with new variants, Nepal Police has launched various awareness campaigns including ‘Save Yourself from Infection and Protect Others’ in order to properly implement the security measures prescribed to prevent the infection. The program is being run as a campaign.

A total of 134 people have been fined Rs 13,800 for violating the prohibitory order issued by the local administration for the prevention and control of COVID-19.

In the process, 610 people violating the health standards have been detained and released. In addition, 23,594 people have been alerted under 173 awareness programs including miking, placards and pamphlets across the country.
