KATHMANDU: AUGUST 19 – August 19 is World Photography Day. World Photography Day is celebrated to explain the history of photography to people, to encourage those who are interested in it, and to honour those who are doing photography professionally. Today, photographers from all over the world try to show others the best pictures they have taken and to understand their essence and meaning by looking at the pictures taken by others. Many people now have a mobile phone with a camera in their hand, so a photo taken by everyone can express a touching feeling.

History of Photography

The world’s first photograph was taken in 1826 in France. At that time, the first picture was taken byJoseph Nicephore Niepce with the help of heliography. Heliography is also a process of photography. At that time, it took a long time to take a picture. The most interesting thing is that probably no one ever met people who laughed in an old photo.

Because it took so long, not everyone could stop laughing. Since then, the methods and standards of photography have changed dramatically.
